Yes. To safely and efficiently deliver these transformational upgrades, PTC will undergo three phases:
Investing over $2.3 million in capital improvements, we will close for approximately 16-20 weeks for Phase 1 to support this important revitalization effort. Here is a more detailed look at each phase:
30%+ Brighter, Even Lighting: Light is evenly distributed across every inch of the court, eliminating harsh shadows and visual distractions.
Everyone is welcome here, with or without a membership. USTA PNW is offering complimentary membership through our inaugural year, open to everyone in the Portland community. The complimentary membership begins when the facility reopens.

We understand that Portland Tennis Center has been home to many USTA Adult League teams over the years, and we know the temporary closure may create questions about league play.
During the temporary closure, USTA Pacific Northwest will do its best to connect Portland Tennis Center Adult League players with opportunities to participate in Adult League tennis throughout the transition. While league participation may look different during this period, our goal is to help players stay connected to the game until Portland Tennis Center reopens.

No. A USTA membership is not required to reserve courts or participate in Portland Tennis Center programs, City League, or Interclub matches. A current USTA membership is only required if you plan to participate in USTA Adult Leagues, USTA-sanctioned tournaments, or other USTA-sanctioned events. Junior players under the age of 18 are eligible for a free USTA Junior Membership.
There are 12 courts available: 4 indoor courts in the main building, 4 year-round dome courts and 4 lighted outdoor courts.
Morning, afternoon, and evening session blocks will be available 7 days a week (official hours will be published soon).
Yes, Portland Tennis Center is and will remain ADA Accessible.
Affordability and inclusion are central to our non-profit mission. We offer a simple, confidential need-based application process providing fully funded monthly programs as well as free annual memberships for eligible players and families.
