The Portland Tennis Center is about to get a $2.3 million makeover.

The city of Portland’s Parks & Recreation Department entered a 25-year partnership with U.S. Tennis Association Pacific Northwest — a nonprofit dedicated to growing the sport — to renovate the Portland Tennis Center at 324 N.E. 12th Ave.

The USTA PNW will invest around $2.3 million to renovate and modernize the site. Project plans include a building a new tennis dome and replacing the main building’s roof and ceiling liner, which will bring upgraded HVAC systems and backup power for more reliability for players.

New, energy-efficient lighting will also be added to the existing building along with better insulation and modernized tech.
